Canada Lifts Travel Visa Requirement for Mexican Citizens
As the US president-elect Trump continues to alienate Mexico and its citizens with threats of deportation and the infamous wall between the US and Mexico, Canada, on the other hand, is working towards a closer relationship with Mexico. As of December 1st, 2016 the requirement for Mexican citizens to have a visa to visit Canada was lifted. Now Mexicans only require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). The visa requirement had been in effect since 2009 when the Conservative government implemented the process, causing tension between the countries.
